The Licking Wildcat Tennis team is a group that truly embodies what it means to be dedicated student-athletes. Day in and day out, these players show up ready to work – not just during practice hours, but in the extra time they put in on their own. Whether it’s staying late to get in a few more serves or meeting up on weekends or early mornings to rally, their commitment to improving as athletes is evident in the extra time they put in. They understand that growth doesn’t happen by accident – it takes consistency, effort, and a willingness to push beyond what’s comfortable.
On the court, the Wildcats bring both intensity and heart. Every match is a testament to their resilience and teamwork, and even in the most challenging moments, they dig deep and keep competing with pride. But their dedication doesn’t stop at the fence line. These athletes take their academics just as seriously, balancing schoolwork and tennis with a level of responsibility that deserves recognition. They know that being a true student-athlete means excelling in both areas.
One of the most special things about this group is the energy they bring to the team. Despite the challenging practices, tough matches, and the unpredictable wind, they manage to keep the mood light and the camaraderie strong. They encourage each other, laugh often, and support one another like family. Coaching the Licking Wildcat Tennis team isn’t just a privilege – it’s a joy. They are a shining example of what happens when hard work meets heart, and they continue to represent their school with integrity, class and Wildcat pride. We will continue to see awesome things from Wildcat Tennis.
