Junior High Principal Aibeen Holland greeted parents and students at the seventh grade orientation held on Thursday at the Licking Junior High gym. Both Principal Holland and the incoming seventh graders will be experiencing their first year on the campus.
Licking R-8 Schools began preparation for their new school year last week, beginning with Freshman Orientation for students/families from rural schools on Tuesday.
Staff assisted families needing assistance with registration on Thursday afternoon, and Junior High Orientation was held as well.
More activities are planned for the upcoming week. A prayer walk led by community members will be held Sunday afternoon over the grounds and buildings of both campuses. Those interested in participating should gather at the Elementary School flagpole at 4 p.m.
Elementary Open House is Monday, August 24, from 4 to 6 p.m. A school supply giveaway will begin at 3:30 p.m. that same afternoon at the FEMA building, so stop by and get all the necessities for the school year.
All these activities are leading up to Wednesday, August 26, which will be the first day of school at Licking R-8 Schools.

Samie Lewis, Daniel Cooper and JD Hoffman helped parents with online registration in the Science Building Thursday afternoon.
