LHS Drama presented “And Then There Was One” to students and staff Friday afternoon in a dress rehearsal, followed by shows Friday and Saturday evenings that were open to the public.

Jasmine Smith and Jack Roberts played Mimms and Clayhorn, a couple with a questionable past who were filling the roles of butler and maid at an island retreat for a group of nine guests.

Cole McCloy portrayed Dr. Albert Prince, the first guest to arrive. Emily Plain followed, played by Sadie Hutsell.

Detective Horatio Miles was portrayed by Cameron Frost, and was immediately suspicious of Mimms and Clayhorn.

Actress Delores Biggs (Paige Kilby) and rock star Presley York (Isaac Jordan) were the next to enter, demanding the attention of all.

A shark (Nicole Paolella) made its presence known, reminding all of the shark-infested waters surrounding their island get-away.

Heather Starlett (Ashlee Umfleet) and Matthew Charisma (Josh Rotherham) arrived together, having met en route when Charisma heroically saved Starlett.

The final guest, Margaret LaRue (Diane Gooding) was injured before making it through the door, and Mimms and Clayhorn believed her to be dead.

As the guests died one by one, suspicion grew among those remaining, until finally all that remained were Starlett and the actress, Delores Biggs. Shortly after Starlett shot Biggs, she discovered that none of the others had truly been dead, only pretending, making her the only killer. But was she? Then the actress returned to life as well.

Only one question remained, why did the portraits disappear from the mantle as each one pretended to be dead? Suspicions skyrocketed again as they turned on each other just before the curtains closed.

Others involved in the play were Miss Crystal Frailey, sound effects/piano; Eva Smith and Alyssa Gale, curtain; Nolee Miller, lights; and Myka King, props.

They did an amazing job,” said drama instructor Mrs. Briana Link. “I am very proud of them.”

They put in a lot of hard work and had a lot of fun doing it,” added Miss Crystal Frailey.
