It was standing room only in the Sherman Hill Field House on Thursday, December 19. Parents, grandparents and other relatives came to watch PreK through fourth grade students perform their annual Christmas concert.

The show began with the Wildcat Learning Center students singing “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Jingle Bells.”

Music Director Kermit Lonning conducted and Crystal Frailey played the piano for very enthusiastic kindergartners, first, second, third and fourth graders as they sang their songs. The students performed “Deck the Halls,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” and the lengthy “Twelve Days of Christmas.”

The concert ended with the entire group singing “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.”

Santa and Mrs. Claus made an appearance, handing out treat bags for the teachers to give to the students.

A spring concert is planned for fifth and sixth grade students.

The Licking High School and Junior High choirs and bands held their annual Christmas concert on Tuesday, December 17. The music was conducted by Mrs. Briana Link, with accompaniment provided by Miss Crystal Frailey.

The Cat’s Meow a cappella group started the concert. The group made a dramatic entry into the gymnasium, marching while chanting the song ‘Eatnemen Vuelie.”

Junior High Choir, comprised of sixth and seventh grade students, performed “A la Nanita Nana,” “Carol of the Bells” and “Once Upon A Christmas.”

Three pieces were performed by LHS Concert Choir. “Coventry Carol” was their first selection. Their second song, “Infant Holy, Infant Lowly,”featured a flute solo by Josie Gifford. The choir sang a cappella for their final number, “Mary Sat A Rockin.’”

LHS Concert Band, consisting of students in grades eight through high school, performed “Secret Agent Sugar Plum,” “A Christmas Canon” and the popular Christmas song, “Sleigh Ride,” which included a horse whinny by Ronald Rife.

A spring concert will be announced at a later time.
