LICKING – July 1, 2024, marked the official retirement of Harv Antle, head baseball coach for the Licking Wildcats for the past eight years.

Antle came to Licking in the fall of 2016 and taught social studies and PE in addition to his coaching duties. During his time at Licking, the Wildcat baseball program enjoyed a resurgence, breaking a 20-year drought of state tournament appearances.

In eight years under Antle, Licking compiled a record of 246-86 for a .741 winning percentage. Those years also included three Frisco League Tournament titles, one Frisco League regular season championship, two district championships, two Final Four appearances and one state championship. Also, six Wildcats signed to play college baseball.

Antle’s retirement closes the books on a teaching and coaching career that spanned three decades. Antle taught for 29 years, was a head coach for 28 years, and spent 30 years coaching high school baseball.

Antle began coaching at Crocker as an assistant for Tim Hardesty. After two years, Antle took his first teaching job at Dixon, along with the position of head baseball coach.

After Dixon, Antle coached and taught at Iberia, Camdenton and Blair Oaks before coming to Licking. In 2011, Antle was recognized by his peers and inducted into the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame.
