Obituary – Linda B. Concoby

Linda Beth Ray Concoby, 81, of Rogers, Arkansas, died on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas in Rogers.
Daughter of Alba W. Ray, Jr. and Wilda Irene (Housden) Ray, Linda was born on October 9, 1943, in Licking, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia in 1970, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication.
She held different positions at radio and television stations in Missouri and Illinois from 1965-1972, including Traffic Manager and Continuity Manager, before settling in for a nine-year stint at Chicago’s WSNS-TV, where she held a variety of management positions and was an on-air host and producer of a weekly talk show. She was also called upon to be a presenter at the Chicago Emmy Awards on two occasions.
Following her second marriage in 1994 to John Concoby, she turned her attention to the management of John’s construction business, Energy Smart Construction, in Rogers, Ark., while simultaneously continuing her own business, Linda Ray Marketing Strategies.
Whether she was in Missouri, Illinois or Arkansas, she always found time to participate in local organizations, from the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Evanston, Illinois, and the Chicago Area Broadcast Public Affairs Association in Chicago, to the Red Hats in Rogers and more. She was drawn to activities that required planning, coordinating and implementing, and always worked extremely well with people.
Linda was always concerned for others’ wellbeing and knew how to make other people feel comfortable. She participated in her church, was often the first to welcome new neighbors to her neighborhood, and enjoyed helping others whenever she could.
Linda is survived by her husband, John Concoby, his five children from a previous marriage and their children; her son, Gary Scott Frost (Cristina Dorribo) and granddaughter Sofía Frost, Buenos Aires, Argentina; and her sister, Debra Sue Ray, Ellisville, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Jan Richard Ray.
Linda will be truly missed by her family, and countless friends and former colleagues.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Linda Concoby remains an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She was a delightful, gracious lady who enjoyed others’ life stories and celebrated their accomplishments. Linda was inquisitive and made it a point to learn something new everyday. She found peace through daily meditation and the beauty and wonder of nature. May we all be more like Linda.
