Obituary – Brenda K. Buckner

Brenda Kay Chambers Buckner, age 67, of Lenox, Missouri, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026. She was born on September 14, 1959, in Washington, Missouri, to Gerald Lloyd and Doris LaFern Hadley Chambers.

On July 16, 1977, Brenda married Dean Buckner. Together, they shared 49 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and family. They raised four children, Eric, Teresa, Meresa, and Caleb, and were blessed with twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Dean Buckner; her children, Teresa (husband Skid), Meresa (partner Brian), and Caleb (wife Jennie); as well as her daughter-in-law, Mattie Buckner.

She also leaves behind her twelve grandchildren, Aaron (wife Sam), Owen, Casey, Makenna (fiancé Austin), Audrey, Avery, Abbie, Ashtin, Allie, Rowdy, Kobye, and Kayden, as well as her three great-grandchildren, Wade, Ace and Hallie.

Brenda is also survived by her sisters, Kelley (husband Kenny), Lori (husband Mike), and Jill (husband Steven); her sister-in-law, Kathy Chambers; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Eric Buckner; her parents, Gerald Lloyd and Doris LaFern Chambers; and her brothers, Dennis, Kent and Curtis Chambers.

Throughout her life, Brenda devoted much of her time to raising her children and caring for her family. She also held a variety of jobs over the years, including positions at the Lee factory, Rawlings, and Romines Motor Company. She owned a sporting goods business, spent time sewing from home, and later worked at the George O White State Nursery. Of all the places she worked, her time as a pharmacy technician at Sisk Pharmacy held a special place in her heart. She treasured the friendships she made there, especially with her coworkers Amy, Dana, Jane and Adrienne.

Brenda was a woman of many interests and talents. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, researching family genealogy, reading, listening to music and singing. She also loved tending to her plants and spending time in the garden. While her hobbies and interests changed throughout the years, the love she had for her husband and family remained constant.

Some of Brenda’s happiest moments were spent with her grandchildren. She loved attending their sporting events, playing games, and simply being part of whatever they wanted to do. Whether she was singing “Stars“(Dream a Little Dream of Me) and other favorite songs, letting them play games on her phone, or making birthday cakes for their stuffed animals, Brenda had a special way of turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. She was always willing to join in their imaginations and made sure they knew just how loved they were.

Brenda will be remembered for her sweet nature, affectionate spirit, and wonderful sense of humor. Almost always wearing a smile, she had a warmth about her that made others feel welcome and cared for. Her kindness and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on those who knew her, even if only briefly.

Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the countless memories she helped create will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
