Candidates speak at Chamber meeting

All three candidates for Licking mayor spoke at Thursday’s meeting of the Licking Chamber of Commerce. Sean Shearing and Tina Sisco addressed those assembled in person, and Scott Ogden, who was out of town at another obligation, spoke over the phone.

Shearing mentioned community involvement as a key element to growth in the economy. Sisco also included community involvement, and would like to see more industry in the community. Ogden commented on the desire to see more growth as well, and see more opportunities for people to gather.

In other matters, the MC Cruise In will resume later this month at Sonic. The Easter Egg Hunt will be held this Saturday at noon. Work is progressing on the rodeo grounds in preparation for the annual Rodeo, to be held May 30 and 31.

On April 25, the Licking Police Department will host an Open House and has requested a speaker from the Chamber at 11 a.m. The Chamber will donate an AED to the LPD for use in one of their vehicles.

The next meeting of the Licking Chamber of Commerce will be Thursday, May 1, at 7 p.m., at the Licking Senior Center.
