“No Child Left Indoors – Path to the Uplands” Annual Banquet

The Piney River Covey Chapter of Quail Forever hosted their 2025 banquet Saturday evening at the Intercounty Electric Auditorium in Licking. Their “No Child Left Indoors – Path to the Uplands” banquet was very well attended.
The banquet had 38 sponsors this year, up from 30 in the past. The local chapter has also added scholarships to their fundraising efforts, and between 180-200 people showed up to make the evening a success.
Funds raised from a Youth Lot Raffle will go to the 4-H Shooting Sports program. A frozen t-shirt raffle will go to scholarships. Other games, a silent auction table, multiple raffle items and a live auction also raised funds for these causes and more. Steve Buckner and Neal Gately, of Buckner-Gately Auction Service, called the live auction.
Before the meal was served, chapter member Lesly Holt-Richards presented the Green family with a plaque commemorating the contributions of the late Bob Green. Green was an active supporter of the organization and hosted hunts on his property. As sponsors and founding members, Bob and Leann Green have been instrumental in the success of the Piney River Covey Chapter.
Leann Green announced that $1,600.00 had been donated to the chapter in his memory, and she generously matched that amount Saturday evening. A memorial scholarship will be established in his name that the organization will help perpetuate.
