Wildcat Athletics and Wildcat Boys Basketball under interim leadership

The Licking R-VIII School District has announced that some temporary changes have occurred in their athletics program as a personnel issue is being addressed. Interim Athletic Director duties have been assigned to Volleyball Head Coach Tammy Gorman. JV Boys Basketball Coach Chris Harris has been temporarily assigned duties as interim Boys Basketball Head Coach, with other coaches already on staff assisting him with coaching duties.

The District was unable to provide specific information related to the status of Athletic Director and Boys Basketball Head Coach Phillip Gambill, nor did they share the reason for the interim appointments. They did call the changes temporary, and said this is not unusual “when a personnel issue is being addressed.”

“Student activities, including athletics, will continue without interruption. The district will also continue to provide the best education possible for our students,” read the released statement.

“We want to thank the school community for its support and commitment to the school district,” concluded the statement.
