MSHP pursuit

A traffic stop was initiated on Dixon Road by a Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) trooper at 12:33 p.m. on Thursday, when a red GMC Sonoma traveling north on U.S. Highway 63 was noted to have a registration violation. The driver fled the scene and the trooper pursued the vehicle, with assistance provided by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department and the Licking Police Department.

The chase continued down Dixon Road, then northbound on Highway 137 to Highway VV, south of Licking. The driver turned onto Cameron Road, and crossed Highway 32 onto Baxter Road. After reaching Highway C, the vehicle continued north then proceeded onto Pigeon Creek Road, where it eventually crashed.

The suspect fled on foot into a wooded area and law enforcement was unable to locate them. The suspect continues to be sought for the original charge as well as numerous other traffic violations committed during the pursuit. A representative of the Missouri Highway Patrol stated they believed there was no threat to the public by the suspect.
