Notices of Awards for Water Project signed by Mayor

The City of Licking held a special meeting on Wednesday, October 16, to review and award bids for the water project. The project was put to the voters in April of 2019, and two bond issues were approved, allowing the project to proceed. After years of planning and securing grant funding, the project is ready to move ahead.

Caldwell Tanks, Inc., of Louisville, Ky., will receive a notice of award for the contract to provide and install a new 150,000-gallon elevated water tower and dismantle and dispose of an existing 50,000-gallon elevated water tower. Their bid was $1,599,822.00.

Flynn Drilling Company, Inc., of Troy, Mo., will receive a notice of award for the contract for drilling and casing a new well. Their bid was $910,943.00.

With a bid of $527,880.00, Midstate Pipeline, Inc., of Belle, Mo., will receive a notice of award to construct a new Well House. Their bid was $527,880.00.

The final component of the project, the water distribution system, was divided between two grants, so therefore had to be split into two parts. This component will also be the most expensive component. The City is ascertaining whether, between the remaining grant monies and the bonds approved by voters, the full bid price of Donald Maggi for the water distribution system can be met, or whether this aspect of the project may have to be streamlined due to budgetary constraints. Another meeting will need to be held to finalize this part of the project.
