2nd Annual Ride for a Reason

G’ma Pam’s Rack Pack held their second annual Ride for a Reason Saturday. The annual fundraiser started and ended at Crow Creek Bar & Grill. Over $6,500 was made for the non-profit organization, which helps area cancer patients with expenses like transportation during their treatment.

A little after 1 p.m., 47 rigs left on a 2-1/2-hour journey along the backroads of northeast Texas, southeast Phelps and western Dent counties. Two stops were made – at Roseberry Cemetery in Phelps County, and at White River Trace Conservation Area in Dent County.

“The weather was good and everyone had fun,” said organizer Kassi Ramsey.

Many of those participating remained at Crow Creek for a meal and to enjoy the company of friends and neighbors. A special treat was live music by local band Moonshine Xpress. The band members donated their time to the event and played for tips.

Ramsey was pleased with the outcome of the event and expressed her gratitude for the generosity of those participating, both in the side by side ride and in the events that followed at Crow Creek, including Crow Creek staff and Moonshine Xpress members.
