Texas County has 29 percent voting

The unofficial results have been published from the August 6, 2024, primary election for Texas County and for the State of Missouri. Texas County saw 29.09 percent of registered voters make their way to their polling locations.
In state-wide contests, overall results were as follows:
U.S. Senator – Josh Hawley was uncontested in the Republican race and gathered 606,831 votes; Lucas Kunce won the Democratic primary with 255,309 votes; and W.C. Young was uncontested for the Libertarian party and had 2,421 votes.
Governor – Mike Kehoe won the Republican primary with 274,840 votes; Crystal Quade was chosen in the Democratic race with 189,822 votes; and Bill Slantz was unopposed for the Libertarian Party and had 2,414 votes.
Lt. Governor – Dave Wasinger had 206,875 votes to take the Republican primary; Richard Brown will be the Democratic candidate, winning with 231,970 votes; and Ken Iverson gathered 2,401 votes as the Libertarian candidate.
Secretary of State – Denny Hoskins won the Republican primary with 157,116 votes; Barbara Phifer has 146,284 votes to become the Democratic candidate; and Carl Herman Freese has 2,402 votes as the unopposed Libertarian candidate.
State Treasurer – Vivek Malek earned 273,691 votes to lead Republican candidates; Mark Osmack (Democratic, 343,444) and John A. Hartwig, Jr. (Libertarian, 2,412) were both unopposed in their respective primaries.
Attorney General – Andrew Bailey surpassed Will Scharf, getting 242,680 votes in the Republican primary; Elan Jonathan Gross (Democratic, 343,934) and Ryn L. Munro (Libertarian, 2,401) were unopposed in their respective races.
Constitutional Amendment No. 1 failed, with 54.732 percent of voters saying “No.” This amendment was related to property tax elimination for child care providers.
Constitutional Amendment No. 4 narrowly passed, getting 51.180 percent of the vote. This amendment concerned funding of the Kansas City police force.
In regional contests that involved Texas County:
U.S. Representative – District 8 – Jason Smith won the Republican primary with 98,118 votes; Randi McCallian took the Democratic race with 12,558 votes; and Jake Dawson was unopposed on the Libertarian ticket (247 votes).
State Senator – District 33 – Brad Hudson eked out Travis Smith in the Republican primary with 18,488 votes (52.606%).
State Representative – District 143 – Bennie Cook won the Republican race with 5,706 votes; Bernadette Holzer was unopposed in the Democratic primary (736 votes).
Circuit Judge – Circuit 25 Division 1 – Bill Hickle was unopposed and gathered 14,553 votes on the Republican ballot.
Texas County election results are as follows: Registered Voters – 17,019; Total Ballots – 4,950 (29.09%); Republican – 4,401 (88.91%); Democratic – 483 (9.76%); Non Partisan – 50 (1.01%); Libertarian – 16 (0.32%).
