Ladies enjoy “Night Out”

Ladies’ Night Out was hosted by Licking Assembly of God on Friday evening, July 26.

The evening began with a picnic lunch of hamburgers and french fries, with a choice of cobbler desserts.

Fun and games followed, with teams vying for prizes in challenging contests involving bunny hopping and rock-paper-scissors, then tossing ping pong balls into progressively more unbalanced cups, and finally in passing a hula hoop around four team members with hands linked, while not breaking the link.

Door prizes were also awarded throughout the evening.

The praise team offered worship music, with attendees enjoying the harmonies of Amy Christeson, Julie Richardson, Larissa Satterfield and Heidi Malikowski.

The anticipated speaker for the evening became ill en route to the event, and Larissa Satterfield stepped in to provide the keynote message. She asked women to consider if their resistance to following Christ fully comes from a place of insecurity – not believing they are adequate.

Satterfield used the story of the feeding of the 5,000 with five loaves of bread and two fish. She pointed out that the disciples felt inadequate, but were equipped for the task because they were with Jesus.

“The smallest offering, blessed, feeds a multitude,” Satterfield said, emphasizing the worth of all.

“Our inadequacies don’t cancel us from doing what we should,” she continued. “We all have broken pieces; God uses all of them.”

The fellowship and message, combined with the music, food, games and prizes, made for an enjoyable evening for all.
