After two rain delays, the Motorcycle Cruise In rolled in for the season last Thursday at the Sonic Restaurant in Licking. Great weather helped prompt area bikers to get out, and they were joined by some from as far away as Sullivan and even Texas (the state).

Seventy beautiful bikes rolled in, with owners sharing food, fellowship and a passion for their motorcycles.

DJ Lew of The Road Show DJ Service kept the music playing, while coordinator Sue Daniels, husband, Jack, daughter, Dana Lewis, and granddaughter, Kaidyn Daniels assisted attendees and took pictures. The Christian Motorcyclists Association was also present. Prizes were distributed before the evening ended.

New this year is a “Bike Only” lane for the evenings of the Cruise In, held the last Thursday of each month through September, which will be on the west side of Sonic near Highway 63. This allows for easier and safer access, parking and visiting.

The event was also an opportunity for some to tell the stories of their bikes. Harley King proudly told how he and his grandfather, Johnnie Boley, restored his beautiful 1999 Harley Heritage Softtail piece by piece. A “You are My Sunshine” motif is in honor of King’s grandmother.

James McConnell, there with his family, shared some recent updates he’s made to his sleek Harley Davidson.

In celebration of the Cruise In’s 15th season and to commemorate the milestone, t-shirts are available in a variety of sizes and colors.

The next MC Cruise In is scheduled for Thursday, June 27. Till then Ride Safe and watch out for the other guy!
