The 15th Annual 2024 Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics took place Thursday, May 23.

South Central Correction Center (SCCC) employees and area participants started the run/walk in Cabool, traveled through Houston and crossed the “finish line” in Licking.

Derrick James led the way carrying the torch, beginning on Maple Street, turning onto Main Street and finishing at Old Salem Road and Main. Licking police officers Kenny Santee and Brain Allgire escorted the runners through town.

As a show of support and as a fundraiser, Torch Run t-shirts are sold to SCCC employees prior to the run.

Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
