Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast

Licking Mayor Keith Cantrell invited the public to the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, held Thursday morning at the Fox Fire Station. Several people attended the event and joined in prayers for guidance and blessings throughout the community.
City employees Donnie Trout, Barbara Rodgers and Gary Hassell, and Marilyn Cantrell, wife of Mayor Cantrell, served attendees a breakfast of biscuits and gravy. After the meal and fellowship, all enjoyed the vocal talents of Tammy Itnyre, who began and ended the petitions with worship music.
The pastors united to cover several areas of the community with prayer.
Pastor Erin McConnell, who is an alderman for the City as well as being pastor at Licking Pentecostal Holiness Church, prayed for guidance for the mayor, aldermen and all of the city employees.
Pastor Matt McGuire, of Abounding Hope Baptist Church, prayed for the elderly and their caregivers in the community.
Boone Creek Baptist Church’s Pastor Russ Stigall prayed for the public schools of the area.
Blessings on the early childhood children, teachers and caregivers were the request of Pastor John Jordan, of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Pastor Gary Parker, of New Life Free Will Baptist Church, asked for guidance for the ministers and churches of the area, that they would follow God’s will.
The fire and police departments were the focus of prayer by Pastor Paul Richardson, of Licking Assembly of God.
First Baptist Church of Licking’s Pastor Rob Lilly prayed for Israel and America.
Licking Christian Church’s Pastor Rick Mosher prayed for the youth of the community, for the community, state and nation.
Mayor Keith Cantrell ended the event with a prayer of Thanksgiving.
The benevolence and single mindedness of the morning was refreshing, as all turned to the Lord to ask for support and guidance of all areas of the community.
