Raymondville Volunteer Fire Department celebrates 75 years

The Raymondville Volunteer Fire Department (RVFD) held a 75th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday at their firehouse. In addition to a cornhole tournament hosted by BigDawg Cornhole, there were hamburgers, hot dogs, water fun for kids, a gun raffle and silent auction, and a simulation trailer to teach fire safety.
The department also had assembled a RVFD history museum displaying photos and equipment from over the years of their existence.
The children’s fire safety and educational trailer simulated fire and weather alert situations, teaching children how to react safely if in such a situation. It was loaned to the department by the Eleven Point Fire Department for the event.
“The Raymondville Volunteer Fire Department’s 75th Anniversary celebration was a wonderful success,” said Fire Chief Mike Jackson. “We were grateful to see so many community members, former firefighters, families, and friends come together to celebrate the department’s history and create new memories.”
“We would like to sincerely thank everyone who helped make the celebration possible, including those who donated food, supplies, money, time, and other items for the event,” added Chief Jackson. “We are also especially grateful to everyone who shared photographs, newspaper articles, documents, stories, and memories for the museum display. Those contributions helped us honor the firefighters and community members who have supported the department throughout the past 75 years.”
