Obituary – Randy E. Sullins

Randy Earl Sullins was born on November 18, 1954, in Rolla, Missouri. One of 11 children born to Lebern & Helen (Cameron) Sullins, Randy Earl was the baby boy, with only his baby sister, Phyllis, following him. He finally found relief from his various ailments on April 8, 2026, at his home in Licking. Randy reached the age of 71, always having joked, “If I’d of known I was going to live this long, I’d of took better care of myself.”
Randy spent most of his life in Licking or close to it, while holding KC, MO close to his heart. He attended Licking High School, graduating in 1973. He shared over 35 years of life with his partner, Dawn Krieger. Together, they were blessed with a daughter, Rebecca Elizabeth Sullins. Randy made his living in the timber as long as his body would allow, going from logging to pine poles to firewood.
Randy’s happy place was the outdoors. He was a simple man who was happiest holding a gun, fishing pole, or chainsaw in his hand, or being with his family. Bonus points if you could make a combination of any of the above. Randy took great pride in being an “Uncie” and Dad, but nothing topped being “Pop Pop.” His grandson was his pride and joy. He was a lover of just about any Chevy produced, with square bodies being his soft spot. Even through the rotten years, you could find him cheering (and cussing) his Chiefs. If you ever saw him without a Pepsi in hand, something was wrong. He loved to pester and aggravate; anything that would bring an ornery grin to his face and a chuckle to his throat. If you were a girl and never got hit with the “what the hell is going on with your hair?” you probably did not spend enough time with him. With a heart on his sleeve and a temper not far behind, you never had to wonder where you stood with Randy.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Lebern and Helen Sullins; his brothers, Eugene, G-Ray, Kenny, Joe and Gary Sullins; his sisters Ruth Chrisman, Vernell Sullins, Dorothy Sprague, Anita Buckner and Phyllis Hill; along with several nieces and nephews, and a few good hunting buddies.
Randy is survived by partner Dawn (his doodles), daughter Becky, grandson Rhyatt Hutsell, son-in-law Joshua Miller, along with too many nieces, nephews, “greats,” cousins, and ones that he adopted as his own through the years than we have room to print. Randy was a rich man when it came to family.
Randy will be remembered as a man who always put family first. If he held you in his heart, can’t was not an option; he would find a way. He lived a simple, peaceful life in his later years. No doubt to balance out the hell-raising that came before. He liked what he liked, loved who he loved, and was not afraid to tell you if it didn’t fall into either category.
There truly are no words to put into how much he meant to his family, how many kids he raised, and how many he claimed as his own. He leaves behind a long legacy of “it isn’t that fast, it doesn’t kick, and it’s not that far.” So many were raised with his wisdom, knowledge and guidance that the legacy will continue. Randy will be deeply missed, always cherished and never forgotten. We know the hounds were treed, and a few good mutts came running when his brothers and sisters said, “Look who’s here!”
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the Scheets Building. Inurnment was in the Cantrell Cemetery. Services were under the care of Bradford Funeral Home and online condolences may be left at www.bradfordfuneralhome.net.
