Obituary – Billy “Jack” Jackson

Billy Jack Jackson was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on January 11, 1934, to Faun Elbridge Jackson and Ruby Lea Jackson, and departed this life on July 3, 2025. Jack was preceded in death by an older brother, Faun Eugene, and a sister, Hazel Lea.
When Jack was a young boy, he moved with his family to Licking, Mo., where he later graduated from Licking High School. As a young man, Jack was converted and joined the Licking United Methodist Church. After graduation, Jack was employed by Rawlings Sporting Goods.
On June 30, 1953, Jack married Mildred Georgell Deweese, the love of his life. To this union, two children were born, a son, Steve, and a daughter, Sandra.
During his 21-year career with Rawlings, Jack and his family were transferred to a factory in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, in 1960. They returned three years later where Jack managed the Rawlings Factory in Licking before retiring in 1973.
Jack owned and operated Jack’s Corner Freeze, here in Licking, from 1974-1983. Jack and Georgell thoroughly enjoyed running the Corner Freeze.
Jack was an outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, and all sports, participating in many during his lifetime. Jack’s pride and joy was his family, whom he loved very much, as well as his many friends and neighbors.
Jack is survived by his son, Steve Jackson and wife Sue, of Rolla; daughter, Sandra Aiken and husband Mike, of Licking; three granddaughters, Sarah Hamilton and husband Nathan, of Rolla; Amy Armstrong and husband John, of Rolla; Tiffany Brunkhorst and husband Kyle, of Licking; three great-grandsons, Thomas, Theodore and Toby Hamilton, of Rolla; and one great-granddaughter, Audrey Brunkhorst, of Licking; brother Jerry Jackson, of Licking; brother-in-law Jack Wilhelmson, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; sister-in-law Melvalee Watson, of Licking; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
A visitation for Jack will take place Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Licking United Methodist Church. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Licking United Methodist Church with Reverend Mitch Hensen officiating. Pallbearers will be Bill Jackson, Kyle Brunkhorst, Aaron Hees, Dylan Davis, Billy Krewson and Phil Lane. Interment will follow in the Licking Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Licking Bridge Builders or the Licking United Methodist Church, in loving memory of Jack.
