Benefit ride for Ivan Gale

A benefit ride for Ivan Gale will be held Saturday, March 29. The ride begins and ends at Crow Creek Bar & Grill, with lineup starting at noon and the riders leaving at 1 p.m.

A $30 entry fee is required per ride, and once registered, riders will receive a ribbon for that ride. Riders may register at the day of the event starting at 11 a.m., or anytime prior at Crow Creek.

When riders return, a benefit meal will be held, followed by an auction, music and more. T-shirts will be available for $25 or decals for $15.

Gale was injured in a motorcycle accident on Highway C on March 9. He remains hospitalized at Cox South Hospital in Springfield. Gale’s uncle, Arnold Hall, shared that the motorcycle’s front tire blew out, causing Gale to wreck. He sustained multiple injuries, including a head injury and a punctured lung.

A silent auction benefit and cornhole tournament fundraiser was held by family and friends on Saturday, March 22, in Raymondville, to help Gale’s family with expenses related to his hospitalization.

Gale’s fiancé, Julia Kohl, has spent as much time as possible at the hospital with him. His family also includes two young daughters, Paisley and Ella, son, Mason, and Julia’s son, Layne.
