Every year we schedule our Spring fundraiser in conjunction with opening day of Trout season at Montauk State Park and this year, as always, did not disappoint. We are happy to announce another fabulous event as we raised approximately $5700.00!

We hosted approximately 100 people who enjoyed hotdogs, several varieties of chili with all the fixings, lots of desserts, tea, lemonade, and coffee. I don’t think anyone left hungry.

Raffle tickets were pre-sold and sold at the event for $10.00 each for a chance at two prizes. The grand prize was a meat package and freezer valued at $1250.00! The second place prize was $250.00 cash. We also had a 50/50 raffle for one dollar per ticket.

I would like to congratulate the winners as follows:

The meat package and freezer was won by Brandi Hood, of Houston, Mo.

The $250.00 second place prize was won by Jared Wyss, of Dixon, Mo.

The 50/50 drawing was won by Jerry Parrish, of Brentwood, Mo., who graciously donated his half back to the fire department.

We would like to thank all who attended and we appreciate everyone’s support. If anyone would like to help support the Montauk Rural Fire Department and our efforts to serve our community, please go to montaukruralfd.org and click the “donate” button or call Chief Larry West at 573-247-9648.
