LHS Homecoming Coronation

The Homecoming King and Queen were crowned Friday at the Sherman Hill Field House. The 2025 LHS Homecoming Coronation was held Friday evening between the Junior Varsity and Varsity Boys Basketball games against Richland. The JV Wildcats started the evening right with a win, and the Varsity team wrapped up the evening on an equal note. In addition to the games and coronation, the evening included a silent auction for baked goods that kept many returning to the hallway at every break, and a special program by the Lady Wildcats Cheerleading team at halftime of the varsity game.

This year’s Homecoming Court included Miss Zoey Dawson, who is the daughter of Derek and Reta Dawson. She is a member of Lady Wildcat Basketball, Volleyball and Softball, FCA and FCCLA. After graduation, she plans to go directly into the workforce.

Zoey was escorted by Mr. Kannon Buckner, who is the son of Mo and Kaylon Buckner. He is a member of Wildcat Basketball and Baseball, National Honor Society, FCCLA, FCA and Pep Club. After graduation, he plans to attend MSU-West Plains for two years to earn his Associate’s Degree in general studies.

Miss Francesca Filippi was the next member of the court to be introduced. Her host parents are Jake and Pegan Butherus. She is a member of Wildcat Cheerleading and Volleyball, History Club and the Italian Exchange Program. After graduation, she plans to return home to Italy, then attend college for Nutrition Science at Turin University, with the hopes of eventually returning to the U.S. to attend Missouri State University in Springfield.

Mr. Roston Stockard escorted Francesca. He is the son of Dustin and Jami Stockard. He is a member of Wildcat Basketball and Golf, FCA, FCCLA and National Honor Society. After graduation he plans to attend MSU-West Plains for two years, then transfer to MSU-Springfield to complete his bachelor’s degree.

Miss Aubrey Gorman was introduced next, and is the daughter of Kenny and Kristie Gorman. She is a member of Lady Wildcat Volleyball and Softball, Concert Choir, The Cat’s Meow A Cappella, FCA and FCCLA. After graduation, she plans to use her A+ scholarship to attend Ozark Technical College, then possibly continue her education for dermatology.

She was escorted by Mr. Carter Sullins, the son of Bobby Sullins and Ashley Owen. He is a member of Wildcat Basketball. After graduation, he plans to attend State Technical College in Linn to pursue a career as a lineman.

This year’s Homecoming King and Queen were Mr. Roston Stockard and Miss Francesca Filippi.

On hand to crown the new royalty were last year’s king and queen, Mr. Austin Stephens and Miss Riley Moloney. Since graduating, Austin has been finishing his prerequisite classes at East Central College for the Radiology program. Riley has recently graduated from the Advanced Manicuring Program at Paul Mitchell “The School” in Springfield. She now works as a Nail Tech at Demi Grace Salon in Houston while also continuing her press-on nail business.
