Meet TCMH’s first baby of 2025

HOUSTON, Mo. – It’s a boy!
John Craig Decker was the first baby born at Texas County Memorial Hospital in 2025, arriving at 4:09 p.m. on Wednesday, January 1.
His parents, Nicholas and Leah Decker, of Eminence, Missouri, were overjoyed to welcome their precious son, John. Christopher Baldwin, MD, an obstetrician and gynecologist, and Kristina Grant, DO, a family medicine physician specializing in obstetrics, delivered baby John. He weighed eight pounds, three ounces, and measured 19 inches long.

Jim and Wilda McNiell, along with Alice Wells, representatives of the TCMH Auxiliary, presented gifts and gift certificates to John and his family. Local businesses, including West Plains Bank, Simmons Bank (locations in Cabool and Houston), Walmart, Forbes, the TCMH Hospital Auxiliary, Progressive Ozark Bank, Shelter Insurance (Airika Barnett-Wiseman), D&L Florist, People’s Bank of Cabool, Security Bank of the Ozarks, State Farm Insurance, S&R Insurance, the TCMH Healthcare Foundation, and New Beginnings Church generously donated gifts to celebrate the arrival of the first child born at TCMH in 2025.
