Obituary – Omer “Neil” Wofford

Omer O’Neil “Neil” Wofford passed away on December 7, 2024. He was the loving husband of the late Barbara Jean (“Jeanie”) Zurkuhlen Wofford.

Neil was born June 16, 1942, at Montauk, Missouri, in Dent County, near Licking, to Utah and Fern Beasley Wofford.

O’Neil graduated from Licking High School in 1961. He attended Southwest Missouri State for one term before returning to Licking, where he owned the Otasco Store.

Neil then moved to St. Louis, where he made his home and career and traveled the world.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his many visits to Florida and relaxing at their home at the Lake of the Ozarks. He will be remembered as a friend to all.

Neil will be remembered by his son, Matthew (Kerry); daughter Kelly; sister Janet; grandchildren Ben, Bridget, Tiffany and Dalton; brother-in-law Randy; nephew Jayson (Jennifer); niece Tanya (Frankie); and his aunt, Marie Wofford Urban.

A memorial service was held at Licking Christian Church at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11. A Celebration of Life was held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, at St. Louis Cremation, 2135 Chouteau Ave., St. Louis, MO 63103.
