The New Life Free Will Baptist Church sponsors the Grace Orphans Home, in Ongole, India. A fundraiser for the Grace Orphans’ Home was held on Saturday, November 9, at the church in Licking.

Last year, Evangelist Doyle Williamson and his wife, Tonya, visited New Life Free Will Baptist and talked about the orphanage. They shared that the orphans were rescued from horrible and dangerous situations in “untouchable” villages in India.

New Life Free Will Baptist raises money throughout the year and sends the donations to be used for food, clothing, Christmas presents and other needs. The children also hear about the ministry of Jesus.

Last year the church raised $1600. Prior to Saturday, $374.34 had been raised this year.

At Saturday’s fundraiser, for a $2 donation, anyone could participate in a musical chair cake walk. The strawberry cake made by My Little Cupcake bakery was won by Sandi Scurlock.

Auctioneer Lynn Shepherd called for bids on cakes, pies and cookies. A German chocolate cake sold for $120!

A silent auction was also held. Items included handmade paintings and drawings, gift cards, homemade shelves, gift baskets and more. The entire auction/cake walk raised $1,797.50. With an extra donation of $20 also given to the fundraiser, the grand total for the day was $1817.50! This brought the total for the year to $2,191.84!

Thanks to everyone who made this a great benefit for the children of Grace Orphans Home.
