On September 17, 2024, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Texas County deputies were dispatched to a residence on Cameron Road in the Licking area for a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival deputies detained a suspect, Halley Swade Bindl, in the yard of the residence. Family members reported Bindl had been behaving erratically and had pointed a gun at one of them, demanding the return of a pet. The reporting persons also stated Bindl had put on a mask and stood behind a tree in the front yard and fired several shots, before approaching the front door and yelling at the persons inside the residence. Bindl was arrested and a search of his person led to the discovery of a loaded firearm.
Prosecuting Attorney Parke Stevens charged Halley S. Bindl, age 24, of Licking, Mo., with Domestic Assault 1st Degree (two counts), Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon (two counts). Bindl is being held in the Texas County Jail without bond.
The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
