LDC

Licking Development Company was chartered on June 28, 1948. The founders had a vision of helping to develop new businesses and new jobs for Licking, Mo.

Several years after Licking Development Company was chartered, it was authorized to sell shares of stock in order to raise money for the development of an industrial building, later to be named Rawlings. The Rawlings factory buildings still stand today, long after Rawlings departed the community and left hundreds of residents without a job.

Over the past 75 years, many different local leaders and business people have led the Licking Development Company, working to bring jobs and industry to the local community. The Licking Development Company is still intact today, and has recently made a transition to the next generation of leaders, who hope to bring new jobs and new development to the Licking community.

Without dating any of the most recent leaders, the current leaders send a heartfelt thank you to them for the “decades” of donated service they have provided to the community.

On June 27, 2024, almost 76 years to the day of its founding charter, Brian Friend, Jim Hagler and Bob Green held their last annual meeting for the Licking Development Company and passed the torch to the newly elected board members. Chris Roper, Colton Lewis, Rawly Gorman and Alan Quick were elected to the Licking Development Company board and are eager to continue the mission and work to help bring new business and new jobs to the Licking community.

The newly elected board members would like to hear from stockholders of the Licking Development Company to try to maintain accurate records and addresses of its stockholders. If you are a Licking Development Company stockholder and have the original stock certificate that you or a family member has passed on to you, please reach out and provide an updated address for our records. An email address has been set up to receive updates or they can be sent by mail as well. Send information to LickingDevelopmentCompany@gmail.com, or Licking Development Company, Attn: Rawly Gorman, P.O. Box 17, Licking, MO 65542.

Hello. I am interested in developing a, what I feel, much needed business in Licking. Could you reach out to hear my idea?

    Thank you!

I just ran across a certificate of shares (30)my parents, Louis & Shirley Parker own (from 1961). Since they are both deceased, I guess I am the new owner. What do I need to do?
