By Aaron Greathouse
Fire Chief
On August 27, 2024, at approximately 6:56 p.m., the City of Licking Fire Department along with Licking Rural Fire Department was dispatched by Texas County 911 to Elm Street, Licking, for a residential structure fire.
Engine 2751 responded with a crew of five, Engine 2753 with a crew of three, and Engine 2771 with a crew of one. While en-route, mutual aid was requested from Raymondville Fire Department. They accepted the request and responded with an engine and crew of five.
Upon arrival of 2751, 2703 established Elm Command and advised a single story mobile home with smoke showing. An aggressive interior attack was initiated and was able to contain the fire to a bedroom.
Texas County Memorial Hospital Ambulance Unit 21 responded for one occupant with smoke inhalation and for standby.
Upon completion of extinguishment and ventilation, Elm Command was terminated and all units were placed back in service.
I would like to thank the following agencies: Raymondville Fire Department, Texas County Memorial Hospital, Texas County 911, City of Licking Police Department, Intercounty Electric Cooperative, and Texas County Sheriff’s Office.
