On July 24, 2024, Texas County deputies responded to a report of a domestic assault on Clover Hill Road in the Plato area.
A female victim reported to deputies that she had been choked and the suspect “stomped” on her face, chest and ribs while she was lying on the ground. Deputies observed obvious injuries on the victim consistent with the report. Deputies contacted the male suspect, later identified as Paul Connearney. Connearney admitted to shoving the victim and putting his foot on the victim’s face. Connearney was arrested and transported to jail.
Prosecuting Attorney Parke Stevens charged Paul Connearney, age 58, of Plato, with Domestic Assault 2nd Degree. Connearney is being held in the Texas County Jail pending a $3,500.00 cash-only bond.
The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
