A wide span of generations headed out from the Licking Senior Center a little after 9 o’clock Saturday morning for a journey down the back roads southeast of Licking. Participants packed picnic lunches, which they enjoyed during their break at Saltpeter Cave. Giveaways were awarded during the ride, with winners picking up their prizes upon their return.
Back at the center, the fundraising continued in the afternoon with the wrap up of a Silent Auction. Delicious desserts, Branson show tickets, knick knacks and other items were included in the auction. The highest bid was for a gooseberry pie made by Berna Dean Schultz, which brought $160. Marilyn Cantrell’s coconut cream pie brought $125, and Carol Fox’s carrot cake raised $36 for the center. The event brought in a total of $1,900.00 for the Senior Center.
