The 2024 Senior Underground Railroad Quilt was auctioned Rodeo Saturday by Auctioneer Steve Buckner at the Texas County Museum of Art & History. Emalee Breeden’s grandmother, Trish Mitchell, placed the winning bid. Recent graduates pieced the quilt while in their sixth year (2017-2018) at Licking Elementary. This was also the first year that construction of the quilt was done by voluntary participation after school by the students. Since its conception 14-years ago, quilt raffle proceeds are donated to the Texas County Museum of Art & History. The Sale-A-Palooza Silent Auction is currently taking place at the Texas County Museum of Art & History. Participants are encouraged to “Bid Early, Bid Often” on the wide array of products available that include gift certificates, handcrafted items, crystal dishes, home décor, vintage items and eclectic offerings, such as one would expect at a museum. The museum is open for auction bidding, visiting, book selection, and classes as announced, on Monday and Tuesday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Silent auction ends Tuesday, June 25, at 2 p.m. All proceeds go to the museum.
