Obituary – James “Jim” Flatt
James “Jim” Leonard Flatt born September 4, 1936, in Lenox, Missouri, passed away on his ninetieth birthday, September 4, 2026, in Houston, Missouri.
Jim is survived by his loving children: Janelle Flatt and fiancé David, of Salem, Mo., Alecia Gunter and husband Bob, of Rolla, Mo., Trevor King and wife Donna, of Rolla, Mo., and Joyelle Madry and husband Roger, of Troy, Mo.; ten grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; as well as several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his wife: Joan Flatt; parents: Otto and Celia (Matlock) Flatt; and siblings: Irene, Henry, Andrew, Charles, Bennett, Billy Lea and Landon.
Funeral Services were held Thursday, September 10, 2026, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Mitch Henson officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Joshua Davis, Jason Ragan, Roger Madry Jr., Remington Madry, David Wray II, and Barrett Madry. Honorary Pallbearers were Stetson Hobbs, Trevor King and Robert “Bob” Gunter. Burial with Military Honors was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. The family was served by Wilson Mortuary.
