Art show opening features tribute to Frick and Clark

Arts Rolla! held their September show opening reception Friday evening at The Centre in Rolla. This show features work from artists associated with the Texas County Museum of Art & History and Ozarks Heritage Artists from Dent County. It also includes artwork created by the late Lanie Frick, of Licking, and the late David Plank, of Salem.

All together, 79 works of art were on display, created by ten artists. Artists from the Texas County Museum of Art & History whose works were shown were: Billie Jean Boley, Patty Burmeister, Brenda Kaiser, Janis Rensch and Ellen Reynolds. Eight pieces of artwork by Burmeister, Kaiser and Rensch had already been marked sold prior to the opening reception.

Ozarks Heritage Artists members featured in the show were: Carol Broyles, Tana Kettner and Peggy King.

Texas County Museum of Art & History Director Sandy Campbell loaned Arts Rolla one of Lanie Frick’s paintings, given to the museum by Frick’s father and sister, for the show. Artist Ellen Reynolds owned two works by David Plank and loaned them for the show as well. These three pieces were featured together, a fitting tribute to these two talented artists. Frick was described as a master of light, and her work was known nationally. Plank was nationally and internationally known for his watercolor paintings of birds.

To see these beautiful works of art, stop by The Centre, 1200 Holloway Street, Rolla. As soon as you enter the building, observe the display cases on either side of the entryway for some of the smaller items.
