VETERANS FREE FISHING DAY

Military veterans fish for free at Montauk State Park on Saturday, September 12. Stop at the Hooked on Vets tent along the Spring Branch to register. Veterans must obtain a special Veterans Free Fishing tag from the lodge.

NOAH COLEMAN CHAPTER NSDAR MTG

The Noah Coleman Chapter NSDAR will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, at Sybill’s in St. James. The program will be “The History of the U.S. Flag,” by Trisha May. Visitors are always welcome.

BUCK WADE GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Inaugural Buck Wade Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, September 12, at the Houston Municipal Golf Course. This two person scramble is a fundraiser for the Houston Senior Center. For more information or to sign up, call 417-217-2736.

COFFEE & COUNTRY MUSIC

Franky C will host Coffee & Country Music with Franky C at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, at the Fox Community Room. This is a free event.

FLOYD FAMILY REUNION

The Floyd Family Reunion will be held Sunday, September 13, with lunch at 1 p.m., at the new shelter house at Montauk State Park. Meats, drinks and paper products are provided; please bring a covered dish. Everyone welcome.

STORM SIREN TESTING

Testing of the Licking storm sirens is scheduled to take place at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 17.

FALL FESTIVAL AT MILL

The annual Pickin’ on the Porch and Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, September 19, at the historic Licking Mill. The festival is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature live music, vendors, a quilt show and more. Contact 573-674-2547 for vendor information.

R&S TRACK/FFA TRUCK & TRACTOR PULL

See more truck and tractor pulling fun beginning at 6 p.m. at R&S Track the evening of Saturday, September 19.

UNITED JOY WOMEN’S CONFERENCE

The Texas County Baptist Association will host a United Joy Women’s Conference at First Baptist Church of Houston on Saturday, September 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A small breakfast and lunch are included. Register online at tcba.site.

ANNUAL FALL FESTIVAL & TRACTOR SHOW

Anutt Community Church is hosting its 4th Annual Fall Festival and Tractor Show beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 26. Gun raffles, a quilt raffle, music, a bake sale, games, vendors, and a dinner will be held. Located at the junction of Highway C and Highway O in Anutt. For information, contact 573-202-0649.

YOUNG COMM. CTR. GUN RAFFLE & DINNER

The Young Community Center (Historic Anutt School) in Anutt will be drawing the winner of a gun raffle (Henry LASR .300) at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, at a dine-in or carry-out dinner fundraiser at the center. Meal begins at 5 p.m. Proceeds assist with maintenance of building and support of community projects. Tickets available at Iron Hill Armory or call 573-201-7236.

MRFD HAM & BEANS DINNER

RANCH RODEO

A Ranch Rodeo is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, at the Licking Rodeo Grounds.

MUSEUM/BOOK NOOK

The Museum of Art & History and Book Nook, in Licking, have opened for the 2026 season. Hours are Mondays and Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

GUN AND QUILT RAFFLE

The Fleet Reserve Association FRA Branch 364 has ongoing Gun and Quilt raffles to support college scholarships. For more information call David Herndon at 417­-967-0661.

RECOVERY UNDERGROUND

Recovery Underground, a local support group, meets at 6 p.m. on Mondays, a Bible study at 6 p.m. on Thursdays, and Church at 6 p.m. on Saturdays, each week at 108 Main Street in Licking. For more information call Jake Carver at 573-889-7785.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday at the Licking United Methodist Church.

ADDICTION RECOVERY CLASS

A program to help you overcome any form of addiction, based on the doctrine of Jesus Christ. If you or a loved one are struggling, please come! Every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Hwy. 63 and Hwy. E, Houston.

AOG LEGACY SERVICE

The Licking Assembly of God invites all to attend their weekly Legacy Service, held from 1 – 2 p.m. every Wednesday. This non-denominational service was begun to provide an option for those who wish to attend a mid-week service held during daylight hours.

SHERRILL TOWNSHIP

Sherrill Township meets at 5:30 p.m. every other Thursday at the township shed located at 11875 South 137, in Licking. The next meeting is September 17.

LYNCH TOWNSHIP

Lynch Township’s meetings are the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., at the Lynch Township Shed, 14472 Boiling Springs Road.

DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP

The Phelps Health Diabetes Support Group meets the second Tuesday of each month, from 4 to 5 p.m., at the Phelps Health Delbert Day Cancer Institute, Shirley Day Conference Rooms C, D and E, 1060 W. 10th St., Rolla. Call 573-458-7314 for information.

PARKINSON’S AND CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP

OZARK MOUNTAIN AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

The Ozark Mountain Amateur Radio Club meets the third Saturday of each month, at noon at the Lone Star Annex, 114 W. Main St. in downtown Houston.
