Obituary – Stephanie Bishop

Stephanie Bishop, age 53, of Linn, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Washington, surrounded by her loving family.

Stephanie was born on December 30, 1972, in St. Louis, a daughter to the late Melvin and Lois (Mueller) Bishop.

She attended Linn High School.

Stephanie worked for many years as a devoted caregiver for the elderly, providing compassionate care, comfort and companionship. Her kindness, patience and selfless heart made a lasting difference in the lives of those she cared for. Her calling was to serve others, providing friendship and compassion to all those she encountered.

She took great pride in baking sweets, especially making family’s birthday cakes; she also made her signature biscuits and her mom’s cheesecake. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs, being outdoors, watching the deer and hummingbirds, shooting her guns, having a green thumb with her Zinnias, and going kayaking. Her greatest enjoyment was being Nana to her granddaughters and spending time with the rest of her family.

Stephanie is survived by her son, Levi (Alexa) Maxey, of Belle; two granddaughters, Lindy and Lyla Maxey; one brother, Jason Bishop, of Chamois; two sisters, Angie (Greg) Cole, of Linn, and Jennifer Bishop, of Linn; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2025, at Community Christian Church in Linn, with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 5 p.m. with Rev. Ken Harland officiating.
