Obituary – Viola F. Harris

Viola Faye Harris, age 57, mother of Marlene Mayberry and William Johnson, was born on September 7, 1967, in Columbia, Mo. She flew the coop July 1, 2026, on the farm.
Viola (Vi) is preceded in death by her father, Irvin (Cotton) Harris; sister, Polly Ann Harris (Snyder); brother-in-law, Orval Wayne Robbins; sister-in-law, Debra Kay Harris; and many other family members who have passed.
She is survived by her two children and many adoptive children whom she claimed as her own; two brothers, Jack Harris, and Vernon and wife Melissa Harris; sister, Linda Robbins-Bailie and her husband Ron; and her mother, Darlene Ruth Harris (Danielson). She also leaves behind nieces, nephews and grandchildren who were her world, more so than her two kids, Bayley Rae, Amelia Lynn, Ruka, and many more!
Vi grew up around the area of Edgar Springs and Licking, Missouri. She graduated from Licking High School in 1985. She continued her education by completing a degree in “I know what I’m doing” in truck driving, cosmetology, and being a Carni to retire her occupations as a homemaker/cook.
She loved the farming lifestyle. From helping her dad and brothers in the hay field to raising pigs, chickens, goats, horses and cows.
Raising animals and her kids was the major highlights, but in between that she enjoyed firefighting/EMS, camping, fishing, and spending time giving advice. “Big mouth from the south” was just one more of her famous mottos. Just like, “Suck it up butter cup” was a famous one! She would not let you forget. She was always truthful with everyone.
She will be missed but her words, thoughts, and ways of life will be remembered and carried on.
Go rest high in the sky on the mountain.
