Obituary – Randy K. Barr

Randy K. Barr, of Rolla, Mo., passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at the age of 71.
He was born on March 13, 1955, in St. Louis, Mo., to the late Marvin Barr and Verona (Curran) Barr. On July 2, 1977, he married Deborah (Harris) Barr.
In addition to his parents, Randy was also preceded in death by a brother, Jim Barr; his mother-in-law, Shirley Harris; a brother-in-law, Brian Harris; and step-mother, Henrietta Barr.
Randy faithfully served his community for many years in law enforcement. He served as the chief of the Newburg City Police Department. He was then employed as a deputy sheriff and court bailiff for Phelps County for 20 plus years. After his retirement from law enforcement, he was employed at Dickey Bub Farm and Home in Rolla. Very early in his career he worked as a truck driver but quit driving to spend more time with his family.
Randy had many hobbies and interests. He loved playing golf, cutting grass, cooking and working on small engines. Participating with anything his grandchildren were doing was his passion. Randy was also very involved in the Rolla community. He was a member of the Rolla Lion’s Club, a 911 board member, and years ago, he was on the Rolla Rural Fire Department.
Randy will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes: his wife, Deborah Barr of Rolla; a son, Kevin Barr and wife, Danielle, of Rolla; his father-in-law, David Harris, of Rolla; two brothers, James Drennen and wife, Dionne, of Rolla, and Butch Drennen and wife, Jill, of Rich Fountain; three sisters, Barb Medlock, of Salem, Carrie Belcher, of Indiana, and Cathy Blake and husband, Tomy, of Edgar Springs; his beloved grandchildren, Zoey Barr and boyfriend, Jakob Limmer, and Ethan Barr; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many, many friends; and his beloved pets, Wee Wee and Charlie.
A funeral service for Randy K. Barr will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow in the Pilot Knob Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 22, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Randy’s family to help with final expenses.
