LHS Track and Field stars go to State

Jadyn Barnes advanced to the podium for her fourth straight year at the State meet.

Four members of the Licking High School Track & Field team, their managers, coaches and families traveled to Jefferson City for the Class 2 Track & Field Championship Meet on Friday and Saturday, May 22-23.

Senior Jadyn Barnes made her fourth straight trip to the podium in Javelin, bringing home a third place medal this year.

Senior Ty Merdian finished 15th in the 1600m, with a personal record of 4:46.

Junior Morgan Stone finished 12th in Shot Put and 16th in Javelin.

Freshman Penelope Huff finished 11th in the 300m Hurdles, and 15th in the 200m, setting a new personal record. Huff also ran a personal record in the 100m, finishing in 13.16 and placing 16th overall. This makes her the fifth fastest 100m girl in Licking High School history in her freshman year.
