Licking music students shine at State Festival

Nine Licking High School band and choir students performed at the MSHSAA State Solo and Small Ensemble Music Festival, which was held on Saturday, May 2, in Columbia.

Winning gold medals were Gwendolyn Campbell, with a vocal solo, and the Ladies Sextet, composed of Gwendolyn Campbell, Josephine Gifford, Lillian Godi, Reece Lozoya, Kylee Rinne and Ava Walker.

Silver medals were earned by Reece Lozoya for her vocal solo, Gwendolyn Campbell for her trumpet solo, the Mixed Brass Trio, consisting of Gwendolyn Campbell, Andrew Ronald Rife and Zoey Sellars, and the Ladies Trio, with members Josephine Gifford, Lillian Godi and Ava Walker.

A Bronze medal was awarded to Kaylynn Rinne for her vocal solo.
