Track Cats bring A-game to Cuba

Morgan Stone set a meet record in Shot Put, throwing 11.95 meters.

The Licking Wildcat Track and Field team traveled to Cuba on Thursday, April 16, and returned home with a multitude of medals.

Medals were offered for the top four finishers in each event. The girls team finished the evening in fourth place and the boys team was in seventh place.

Earning medals or setting personal records were:

Morgan Stone – first place Shot Put (personal record and meet record), second place Discus, fourth place Javelin

Penelope Huff – first place 300m Hurdles (first time to compete in this event)

Tyrone Merdian – second place 1600m, second place 3200 m.

Olivia Clayton – fourth place 1600m (personal record)

Bailee Medlock – third place Triple Jump

Jayde Thompson – fourth place High Jump & Triple Jump

Girls 4x100m Relay – second place Kylee Rinne, Sadie Hutsell, Bailee Medlock and Penelope Huff

Boys 4x100m Relay – third place Chris Ross-Leffler, Lucas Bates, Evan Crow and Ethan Stout

Jadyn Barnes – third place Javelin

Ethan Stout – fourth place 400m and 100m

Sadie Hutsell – third place Pole Vault

Jeffrey Alkire – personal record in 800m

Lucas Chambers – personal record in Shot Put
