R-8 Teachers of the Year announced

Mrs. Judy Beckett received the award for Secondary Teacher of the Year from Junior High Principal Angela Loughridge and High School Principal Jarad Rinne.

The Licking R-VIII School District announced the 2025-26 Teachers of the Year for the Elementary and Secondary campuses on Friday, April 3. Miss Ashley Creek and Mrs. Judy Beckett received the honors this year.

Miss Creek is a Third Grade Teacher at Licking Elementary School and was named Elementary Teacher of the Year. Elementary Principal Brian Barry complimented Miss Creek on working well with all children, despite their needs, and being a kind and caring individual. This is Miss Creek’s third year teaching.

Mrs. Beckett is a Math Teacher at Licking High School and was named Secondary Teacher of the Year and District Teacher of the Year for the Licking R-8 District. Junior High Principal Angela Loughridge described Mrs. Beckett as “fantastic,” adding that she cares about and advocates for everyone, both students and staff, and has the ability to connect with and instruct students regardless of their level of ability.
