Obituary – Richard L. Brown

Richard Leo Brown, 82, of Lenox, Missouri, passed away on February 24, 2026. He was born January 30, 1944, in Newburg, Missouri, to Robert Lee Brown and Lula Mae (King) Brown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Richard Brown Jr.; his daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Daniel Bridges; and three sisters, Bonnie Handley, Della Cummings and Opal Hollis.

Richard is survived by his wife, Anna Fleming Brown, of Lenox; three daughters, Karen Pogue, of Viburnum, Gail Gilmon, of Sedalia, and Shirley (Charlie) Poehl, of St. Louis; thirteen grandchildren, Trenton, Travis, Krystal, Kendra, Collin, Cody, Hannah, Charles, Christian, Jessie, Avery, Barry and Blaine; one sister, Judy Thompson, of Lenox; and one brother, Bobby Brown, of Salem.

Richard was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who took great joy in spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was known for his generous heart. A talented mechanic, Richard could rebuild a transmission without the need for instructions and spent countless hours in his shop doing what he loved. He also enjoyed treating his family to meals at Sirloin Stockade, listening to classic country music, and watching Western films. His loyal dog, Baby, held a special place in his heart.

Richard will be remembered for his kindness, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services for Richard were held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Anutt Full Gospel Mission Church, 36 County Road 2150, Edgar Springs, Mo. Visitation began at 11 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 12 p.m.
