Obituary – Judy C. Wise

Judy C. (Elliott) “Fletcher” Wise, age 81, daughter of Robert Elliott and Elsie (Douglas) Elliott was born May 10, 1944, in Kansas City, Mo. She passed away February 17, 2026, at Hickory Manor Nursing Home, Licking, Mo. Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Dale, in 2000; and her ex-husband, Gerald Fletcher, in 2012. Judy is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John; and her nephew, David.

She is survived by her children, Gina (Fletcher) Whitaker and husband Paul, of Salem, Mo., Jeff Fletcher and wife Karen, of Belton, Mo., and Tina Wise, of Kansas City, Mo.; surviving also are her grandchildren, Brooke Olszewski and husband Ian, Mackenzie Cook and husband Nathan, and Krissi Piveral and husband Quentin; and great-grandchildren, Camden, Cason, Rilyn, Cooper, Dylon and Eldon; and nephew, Kenny Elliott and wife Penny, of Avondale, Mo.

Judy grew up in Independence, Mo., and graduated from Northeast High School. She went on to graduate from nursing school and used her nursing degree at Blue Cross Blue Shield. She lived in the Kansas City area most of her life until 2019, when she moved to Licking, Mo., for health reasons. Judy was a member of Independence Avenue Baptist Church. She received Christ as her Savior in her teens and sang in the church choir. She was active in the First Baptist Church of Raytown later in life as well, as a Sunday School teacher, enjoyed taking dinners to those in need, and loved to sing church hymns.

Judy married Dale Wise in 1976. They enjoyed Kansas City Chiefs games, traveling, and hosting holiday family functions. They enjoyed visiting and helping both of their mothers and other residents in the nursing home. Judy loved playing Bunco and other games, going to the show, lady lunch groups, and shopping. She had a lovely soprano voice and sang in her free time. Judy loved her family and enjoyed her time with them. It was the highlight of her day, to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Judy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was always looking for ways to help her family and friends and felt that God has given her each day to enjoy and live for Him. She will be missed, but we know that she is enjoying the beauty of Heaven and is rejoicing in the presence of the One she has so long desired to meet.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be left to Montauk Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Raytown, or the Hickory Manor Resident Fund, in loving memory of Judy. Online condolences may be left at www.foxfh.net. Arrangements are entrusted to Fox Funeral Home.
