On January 30, 2026, at approximately 2:23 p.m., an officer with the Licking Police Department responded to South Central Correctional Center for a report of an employee attempting to bring a prohibited item into the facility.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Corie Buckner, a 37-year-old male from Salem, Missouri, possessed and delivered a marijuana vape pen into the correctional center.
Buckner was transported to the Texas County Justice Center, where he was booked and later released for Delivery or Possession of a Controlled Substance at a Correctional Center, a Class D Felony under Missouri law.
The Licking Police Department takes incidents involving contraband in correctional facilities seriously and will continue working closely with partner agencies to ensure the safety and security of staff, inmates, and the public.
The above information is just mere accusations and is not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of any charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
