This year’s game between Licking and Plato for the girls basketball Eden Bisker Trophy was won by Licking. This school year marks the 10th anniversary of Eden’s passing, and her father, Scotty Bisker announced that this would be the final year for the girls basketball trophy. The boys trophy games will continue until Eden’s brother, Wade, graduates from high school.

The Licking Lady Wildcats resumed Frisco League play with a home matchup against the Plato Lady Eagles on Thursday, January 29.

Licking jumped out to a quick double-digit lead but then both teams went cold for about six minutes. The Ladycats were finally able to muster some offense right before halftime to take a 29-9 lead into the break. The second half would be all Ladycats as they held the young Lady Eagles to just two points total. Licking won, pulling away 61-11.

Hadlee Davis scored a season high 22 points to go with several rebounds. Bailee Medlock chipped in 14 points, Kylee Rinne 7, Penelope Huff 6, Jayde Thompson 4, Addie Hart 2, Khloe Kinder 2, and Savana Evetts 2.

“We really needed a game like this to gain some confidence back after a tough week at the St. James tourney.” ~ Coach Rissler
