Army CID announces $5,000 reward in search for missing explosive

On January 29, Stars and Stripes shared that the Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) announced that a $5,000 reward was being offered for information about an explosive stolen from Fort Leonard Wood.
The demolition shaped charge was last accounted for at the Ammunition Supply Point on base on November 7. Shaped charges focus the effect of an explosion through use of a specifically shaped, explosive-filled cavity.
The reward is offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of person(s) responsible for the theft. Anyone possessing information may contact investigators at the Army CID Fort Leonard Wood Resident Agency at 573-596-0696. Anonymous tips can also be made online at www.p3tips.com/armycid.
Fort Leonard Wood hosts about 75,000 soldiers, Marines, sailors, airmen and civilians for training annually. One area of specialized instruction is demolitions training.
