HOUSTON, Mo. – The Houston Lions Club hosted its annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on January 9, honoring law enforcement officers from across Texas County with a luncheon held in their honor.

All Texas County law enforcement agencies were invited to attend the event as a show of appreciation for the men and women who serve and protect local communities each day. Lions Club members expressed their gratitude for the dedication, professionalism, and sacrifices made by local officers.

Law enforcement officers are on the front lines every day, often under difficult and dangerous circumstances,” said Bennie Cook, Secretary of the Houston Lions Club. “This luncheon is our way of saying thank you for their service, their commitment, and their willingness to protect the people of Texas County.”

Cook noted that supporting first responders is a core part of the Lions Club’s mission.

The Houston Lions Club is proud to stand behind our law enforcement agencies,” Cook said. “Strong communities depend on strong partnerships, and we are grateful for the work our officers do to keep our towns safe.”

The Houston Lions Club is an active service organization dedicated to meeting community needs through charitable projects, public safety support, and civic involvement throughout Texas County.
