Licking R-VIII School District presented the Junior High and High School Band & Choir Christmas Concert on Tuesday evening, December 9, at the Sherman Hill Fieldhouse,

The evening began with Band Director Crystal Frailey leading the Sixth and Seventh Grade Band through “Jolly Old St. Nick,” “Ode to Joy (Symphony No. 9)” and “Feliz Navidad.”

The High School Concert Band was next on the program, also with three numbers. “The Festive Season,” “Greensleeves” and “Jingle Bells Fantasy” were all performed well by the band under Frailey’s direction.

Choral Director Kerri Chafin led a small but talented Junior High Women’s Choir through “This Christmas” and “Sing We Now of Christmas,” accompanied by Crystal Frailey.

The a cappella group the Cat’s Meow was the next to sing from the risers. An impressive performance of “Ding-A-Ding-A-Ding” was performed sans instrumental accompaniment.

To top off the evening, the High School Concert Choir performed two pieces. “Fum, Fum, Fum” and “The First Noel” were beautifully performed, capping off a fine Christmas Concert under the direction of Frailey and Chafin.
